Venus in 2015



This image of the close conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on the 30th June 2015 was captured by Tony Barker from Mickleover, Derby. Tony took the image at 23:09 BST with his Canon EOS 500D DSLR and a 300mm lens. Settings were ISO 1600, 1/45 sec and f5.6.  Image © Tony Barker.



The conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on the 30th June 2015 was also photographed by Claire Spencer from Palmones, Southern Spain. The first image was taken on the 30th June 2015 while the second was taken on the 1st July 2015. She used a Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ3 camera with 1/8 second exposures at ISO 800.  Image © Claire Spencer.

Pete Hill captured these two pictures of Venus and Mercury on the evening of Tuesday, 6th January 2015. Both were taken using a Canon 450D camera and a Sigma 150 - 500 zoom lens, a tripod and cable release. The upper image is at 150 mm, ISO 800, F18 and 0.5 seconds. The lower image at 500 mm, ISO 800, F18 and 1 second. Both images were shot in RAW format and processed in PS6.  Image © Peter J Hill
