The following image of Jupiter was captured by Chris Callaway on the 3rd February 2025. The moon Io is just to the lower right of Jupiter and is casting its shadow on the planet, while Ganymede appears to the upper left. Chris used an 8" Meade LX200, AVX mount, ZWO ASI178MC camera and a PowerMate 2.5x extender. The best 250 frames of a 500 frame video were used for processing the image in Astrosurface, PixInsight and Photoshop. Image Credit: Chris Callaway. |

Jim Sarsgard captured this image of Jupiter and the Hyades star cluster in Taurus on the 2nd January 2025. Jim used a Canon 1000D camera on a fixed tripod. 50 x 5 second exposures at F2.5 and ISO 800 were combined and post processed in Sequator and FastStone. Image Credit: Jim Sarsgard. |
